Child, Adolescent and Adult Mental Health Treatment
Harbor Oaks, located in Macomb County in Southeastern Michigan, provides inpatient psychiatric treatment programs for children, adolescents and adults suffering from major depression, schizophrenia, bi-polar disorder in addition to other psychological and behavioral disorders.
Both adults and children and adolescents are evaluated on admission and a specific care plan is designed. All patients are treated with a combination of treatment modalities unique to their own needs including medication management, group therapy, individual therapy and activity therapy.
Mental health treatment is led by a staff psychiatrist. For each patient, a weekly meeting facilitates an integrated and multi-disciplinary approach to treatment. Physicians, nurses, social workers and activity therapists participate to ensure an appropriate plan is developed and that treatments are effective.
Harbor Oaks Hospital has twenty-eight beds in our adult inpatient psychiatric wing where individuals 18 and older receive the mental health treatment they need. The children and adolescent unit has 16 beds and are treated and cared for in the children and adolescent's unit of the hospital.
Individuals suffering from psychiatric disorders often have other
healthcare related issues. To address these needs as they arise,
an internist is onsite to treat all patients.
