Tracy Shukwit, MA, LMSW

Tracy Shukwit earned her Masters in Social Work from Wayne State University in 1998. She holds a state license as a Master Level Clinical Social Worker with both micro and macro endorsements. She brings over 12 years of clinical and social work practice experience to her work. Tracy actively supports the profession and has been a social work student supervisor for both master and bachelor level students.
Tracy works with children, adolescents and adults with a wide variety of issues including self-esteem, depression, anxiety, grief and loss, educational difficulties, stress, suicidal thoughts, parenting, mood disorders, and communication skills.
Tracy’s clinical interventions are from a cognitive behavioral standpoint, focusing on thoughts, feelings and behaviors. She believes that by overcoming negative thoughts and behaviors, clients can make positive changes to the way they feel. While Tracy maintains the utmost professionalism in her work, she has a very energetic, approachable style that helps her to build strong rapport with her clients.
In her free time, Tracy enjoys reading, surfing the web, going “Up North” , and spending time with her two sons and husband.

Fritz Streit received a Master of Arts Degree in Clinical Psychology from Central Michigan University in 1990 and he has been licensed in the State of Michigan since 1991. Fritz has a total of 30-plus years experience in working within clinical settings and is currently an outpatient therapist at Harbor Oaks Outpatient Clinic. Fritz works with children, adolescents, and adults in a variety of areas including depression, anxiety, substance abuse, stress, family problems, panic, school issues, trauma, and others as well.
Fritz’s approach to therapy is primarily psychodynamic in nature but he also employs cognitive behavioral techniques to assist clients in their attempts to manage symptoms. Fritz also believes strongly in the value of family or other social supports in assisting clients in effectively managing their issues. Fritz is currently dedicating half of his clinical hours to implementing Harbor Oaks Substance Abuse and Co-Occurring Disorders Intensive Outpatient Program
Joan Ghourgoian
Joan Ghourgoian had two major dreams in life. One was to become a police officer and the other was to fulfill her childhood vision of “curing all people with mental health problems”. After rising through the ranks and attaining significant achievements in the Detroit Police Department, Joan retired after 26 year of service. Thereafter, she pursued her second dream and obtained her Master’s Degree in Clinical Social Work, graduating Summa Cum Laude in 2002 from Wayne State University. She is state licensed.
As she ventured into the world of mental health treatment, Joan realized “cure all” approach was a bit over zealous. She does, however, bring to her client’s a high energy, positive, pleasant, and empathetic approach to therapy and develops a quick and easy rapport with clients.
In genera, Joan advocates a Cognitive Behavioral Approach to therapy, however, she is creative in developing treatment plans which as based on individual needs. Currently, she works with late teen adolescents and adults and has developed experience in dealing with wide spectrum of mental health problems. Joan has also attained proficiency in dealing with couple’s therapy, and is a dynamic group facilitator. Currently she conducts groups involving women’s issues, anxiety disorders, and adult survivors of childhood sexual abuse.
Whatever challenge anyone may present, Joan has a reputation for providing 100% dedication to total client care, she works Tuesday through Saturday with very flexible hours.
