At Harbor Oaks Hospital, we strive to provide services for as many people as can. Our vision is to be the preferred provider of behavioral healthcare services in Southeastern Michigan and beyond by offering care to each patient, who we treat as if he or she was a member of our own family. We believe that an integrated, holistic treatment program, in combination with appropriate social supports, can help individuals and their families recover from mental health concerns and/or substance abuse problems.
The following programming options are included as part of the comprehensive levels of care that we offer here at Harbor Oaks Hospital:
- Inpatient psychiatric treatment is offered for children, adolescents, adults, and older adults who are struggling with the challenges that accompany the presence of mental illness. Each patient is provided with an individualized treatment plan that is tailored to meet his or her unique needs and skills set. Programming is set up in a format that is centered on group therapy and is age-specific in order to address concerns that are pertinent to each age group.
- Chemical dependency inpatient treatment is offered for adults who are struggling with substance abuse concerns, as well as those who are struggling with co-occurring mental health and chemical dependency issues. 24-hour medically monitored detoxification services are also offered as part of this programming option.
- Partial hospitalization programs (PHP) are offered for children, adolescents, and adults. The child and adolescent program offers treatment for youth between the ages of 10 and 17, and the adult program offers treatment for individuals aged 18 and older. Both programs meet Monday through Friday from 9:00am to 3:30pm and are designed to help people who need intensive therapeutic interventions, yet do not require the 24-hour supervision and treatment that is offered in an inpatient program.
- Our chemical dependency intensive outpatient program (IOP) is designed to treat adults who are in need of assistance in overcoming an addiction to substances or who are in need of ongoing encouragement in order to prevent relapse. This program meets Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 3:30pm to 6:30pm. This program follows a combination of evidence-based practices and methodologies that are rooted in the 12-step recovery process. Family support services, psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and social support are all offered in addition to the establishing and practicing of relapse prevention skills.
